Career Profile

Liza joined Active in June 2013 following a long and successful career at the Yorkshire Bank.  She began her career as a Bank Clerk aged just 16, continuing her study while working full time, progressing through various roles (at the bank) and qualifying as a Financial Adviser in 1997.  During this time there was a strong need for advice from retail clients (within the bank).  Liza spent more than 20 years at the Yorkshire Bank (and AXA) as one of the top advisers, continuing to improve her skills & knowledge by gaining her Diploma in 2011.

In June 2018 after 2 years of continuous study, Liza gained Fellowship status from the Personal Finance Society (which is part of the Chartered Insurance Institute), the highest qualification awarded by the CII.

Liza was shortlisted in the Women in Financial Advice Awards 2018 in the category of ‘Financial Adviser (North of England)’.  Liza also made the shortlist in the category of ‘Breaking the Mould’ at the inaugural Tees Businesswoman Awards which took place in November 2018.

In February 2019, Liza won the Outstanding Achievement award at the Yorkshire Financial Awards and later that year was named as Ambassador for the Chartered Insurance Institute’s (CII) Insuring Women’s Futures programme.

Liza is a Corporate Supporter of My Sisters Place; a specialist domestic abuse service in Middlesbrough that sees over 1600 women a year.  The charity provides practical and therapeutic input to support women and children on Teesside to live free from abuse.
