Active’s great ’cause’ for Christmas

As patrons of The Teesside Charity, we always do what we can to support them – and other local good causes.

Whether it’s taking part in the Great North Run, cycling the length of the country or ‘Walking in to the Light’ to raise money for local homeless charities, the team is always up for a challenge.

Christmas is no different and this year we have continued our tradition of supporting the Cause Foundation’s Christmas hamper campaign, instead of spending money on Christmas cards.

Every year we are allocated a family to support, and although the exact details of the family remain anonymous, we are given the family dynamics. This year our family was one of six – mum, dad and four children.

“Christmas can be a very difficult time for some families in our area” says Rachel McCulloch

“To make another family’s Christmas slightly better really is what the Christmas spirit is all about”

Huge thanks also goes to those clients and friends of Active who attended our Festive drinks event last week, generously donating food items and hampers for our local food bank in Thornaby.
