Celebrating Excellence: Emma Cherrington recognised among the UK’s Top Chartered Financial Planners

As we continue our 25th year celebrations, we have another reason to celebrate as Chartered financial planner, Emma Cherrington has been recognised at the Personal Finance Society (PFS) annual Personal Finance Awards in London.

Emma was one of only four finalists in the category of Chartered Financial Planner of the year, out of 8,500 chartered financial planners nationally.

The PFS, which represents more than 40,000 members across the UK, is the professional body for the financial planning sector. Its flagship awards celebrate excellence in financial advice, recognising professionals who demonstrate outstanding technical expertise, ethical practice and a strong commitment to client outcomes.

Emma, who will next year celebrate 10 years at the firm, reached the final stage in the Chartered Financial Planner of the Year category following a rigorous three-stage assessment process that included a detailed submission, a demanding technical case study assessment and an interview with a panel of industry leaders.

“It was an amazing experience attending the awards in London” said Emma “the process made me reflect on why I love my job and how I strive to do more. Being a Chartered financial planner is more than a qualification, it is dedication to continuous learning, ethical practice and showing genuine care for clients. I’m proud to represent Active Chartered Financial Planners and our profession at this level.”

MD, Karl Pemberton, said: “Emma’s recognition by the Personal Finance Society is a fantastic achievement and something the whole team is proud of. It reflects her professionalism, expertise and the impact she has on both clients and colleagues. She’s an excellent ambassador for us and for the wider financial planning community.”

Earlier this year, Emma achieved Resolution-accredited specialist status for her expertise in divorce and separation financial planning. The accreditation, awarded by Resolution, a national organisation of family justice professionals, recognises a high level of technical ability, practical experience and a commitment to client-first advice. Emma is also the only financial planner to sit on the Tees Valley Resolution committee. With two Resolution-accredited specialists, Active Chartered Financial Planners is among only a handful of firms in the UK, and possibly the only one in the North East, to hold this distinction.

This fantastic recognition for Emma comes as we celebrate our 25th anniversary this year. The firm has held Chartered status since 2013 and we continue to be recognised for raising standards and promoting excellence across the financial planning profession.
