Team Active Conquer Scafell Pike

Huge congratulations to our fantastic Active ladies (Cheyenne, Leslie, Laura, Rachel, Liza, Karen & Claire) who, on Saturday 23rd April climbed England’s highest Mountain, Scafell Pike (in the lake district).

Starting at Seathwaite, the 7 ladies (along with 2 male guides) walked for 4 hours up to Stockley Bridge & Grainsgill before they reached the summit.  The weather was warm and sunny to begin with, but culminated at the top with a flurry of snow.

“We felt so proud to reach the summit” said Active’s Karen Knaggs “And although we had put in a lot of training, nothing prepared us for the journey back down; we stumbled and tripped most of the way!” added Rachel McCulloch, Active’s Operations Manager

The descent to Wasdale took a further 2 hours, but the thought of an ice cold lager at the Wasdale Inn kept the ladies moving.

The ladies took on this amazing challenge to raise money for Active’s fantastic charity, the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation smashing their (£1000) target by raising £1235

Well done ladies!

“Having been a client of Active for many many years and have always been given great advice and direction. I am now looked after by Andrew. He has given excellent advice and service, continuing on the great work this company has always offered me. Always cheerful and helpful; a great asset to Active. I have no problem recommending him to other people.
