Liza Pontone

Career Profile

Liza started her career in banking from an early age. She began work as a Bank Clerk whilst continuing her education at night school, where she gained her English A-level and ACIB. In 1997, she passed three banking exams, which qualified her as a Financial Adviser. During this time Liza was also one of the first to be trained in bancassurance with the Yorkshire Bank when it was originally launched. She considers this to be the real start of her career, at a time when there was a strong need for advice from retail clients within the bank.  Whilst at the Yorkshire Bank, Liza was educated in excellent customer service and ethics, which has contributed to the quality of service she continues to provide her clients with today. She spent more than 20 years at the Yorkshire Bank and AXA as one of the bank’s top advisers, continuing to improve her skills by gaining her Diploma in 2011, before joining Active in June 2013.  In June 2018 after 2 years of continuous study, Liza was awarded Fellowship status from the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute), which is the highest level of accreditation awarded by the CII.

Key Services

Liza covers all aspects of personal finance. She prides herself on maintaining good relationships with her clients, which she believes comes from staying in regular contact with them. She works hard to provide excellent customer service and regularly generates business from referrals, which reflects a high level of client satisfaction. Liza can also be seen at many professional events promoting Active, which she thoroughly enjoys. Her fun attitude towards life combined with a real commitment to excellence makes her a perfect addition to the Active team.

“Liza was excellent at explaining investments and talking us through the service she would provide us with so that we knew exactly what to expect. She provided us with clear explanations of the products and did not put any pressure on us to proceed with her advice. As you can see, we cannot praise Liza highly enough.”

Liza tends to work with clients within the County Durham area including Darlington, Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland and Stockton.

Liza is currently studying hard to gain Fellowship status (from the Chartered Insurance Institute), having passed no less than 6 exams in the last year.
